Combination Skin Type

Features: combination skin is the most common skin type, it tends to be more dry (or alternatively normal) on the cheeks, eyes and lips contour, while oily and shiny around the T area (nose, forehead and chin) where more sebaceous glands are located compared to the rest of the face and they are often more active than usual.

Beauty Tip: to find out if you have a combination skin type, gently rub a paper tissue on your face as soon as you wake up in the morning: if you notice oily spots on the tissue, particularly concentrated on nose and forehead, while it is clean around the cheeks, you have a combination skin type.

Recommendations: combination skin requires specific sebum regulating treatments, able to restore the water lipid balance, inhibit the sebum production in correspondence of the oily areas and stimulate it in correspondence of the dry areas. It is recommended to cleanse, purify and clean everyday the oily areas with specific products and nourish and moisturize the dry areas with not excessively rich and nourishing products.

Oily Skin Type

Features: the main cause for oily skin is the excess sebum production by the sebaceous glands. If sebum is fluid, the skin results seborrheic, oily, shiny, prone to thickening, with dilated pores. If sebum is waxy, the oily skin is impure, asphyxiated, with blackheads, particularly concentrated in the T area (nose, forehead and chin), prone to itch and redness.

Beauty Tip: to find out if you have an oily skin type, gently rub a paper tissue on your face as soon as you wake up in the morning: if you notice oily spots on the tissue, particularly concentrated on cheeks, nose and forehead, you have an oily skin type.

Recommendations: oily skin is the most difficult to treat since sebum production is regulated by hormones. It usually requires specific treatments to regulate sebum production, fight the outburst of blackheads, purify the skin while nourishing and moisturizing it. It is recommended to use light texture, cleansing, rinsing and purifying formulations.
